License & Insurance
The following licensing and insurance documentation applies to all work performed by True Day Water Damage Restoration throughout Utah. Property managers, commercial clients, homeowners, and insurance adjusters who require documentation for project authorization or claim processing may request certificates directly at (385) 247-9359 or info@truedaywaterdamagerestoration.xyz.
Utah General Contractor License
License Number: #960332-3505
Issuing Authority: Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL)
License Type: General Contractor
Scope: Licensed to perform general contractor work throughout the state of Utah, including permitted structural repairs, drywall installation, flooring installation, and reconstruction from licensed demolition through certificate of occupancy.
Utah contractor license verification is publicly available through the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing at dopl.utah.gov. Homeowners and property managers are encouraged to verify active license status before authorizing work from any contractor. An unlicensed contractor performing work that requires a license is a violation of Utah Code and may affect the homeowner’s ability to recover damages for defective work through the Utah Residence Lien Recovery Fund or other legal mechanisms.
The practical significance of a general contractor license for water damage restoration: True Day can legally perform and permit the reconstruction that follows drying — drywall replacement, flooring installation, structural framing repairs, and finish work — without requiring the homeowner to hire a separate licensed contractor for the rebuild phase. This eliminates the coordination gap between the restoration scope and the reconstruction scope that arises when a restoration company without a general contractor license completes the drying and leaves the reconstruction to a separately engaged contractor.
IICRC Firm Certification
Firm ID: #927354-5258
Issuing Authority: Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)
Certification Type: IICRC Certified Firm
The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is the recognized standards body for professional water damage restoration, mold remediation, and fire and smoke restoration in the United States and internationally. IICRC Certified Firm status requires that the firm: employ IICRC-certified technicians in the applicable technical disciplines; maintain current general liability insurance; adhere to the IICRC Standards of Ethics; and comply with the applicable IICRC technical standards, including ANSI/IICRC S500 (Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration) and ANSI/IICRC S520 (Standard for Professional Mold Remediation). IICRC firm certification is subject to revocation for ethics violations or failure to maintain certification requirements. Firm status can be verified at iicrc.org.

Why Verify Before You Hire
In Utah, any person can market water damage restoration services without a license, without certification, and without insurance. There is no state registration requirement for water damage companies that do not perform reconstruction. A company that limits its work to extraction and drying — and does not perform structural repairs — is not required to hold a contractor license under Utah law. This means the homeowner’s primary protections are: (1) verifying contractor license status through Utah DOPL before authorizing reconstruction work, and (2) verifying IICRC Firm certification status through iicrc.org before authorizing restoration work that will be documented for insurance claims.
A water damage restoration company that does not hold an active Utah contractor license cannot legally perform the reconstruction phase of your project — regardless of what their marketing materials state. If they perform unlicensed contractor work, the homeowner’s recourse in the event of defective work is significantly limited compared to work performed under a licensed contractor agreement.
